Interview with Jaime Oppenlander


Above Jaime Oppenlander puts the ball away. This past season Jaime played 1st through 3rd doubles and 5th & 6th singles. Below is an interview with Jaime conducted on June 12th, 2009.

Q. What colleges were you looking at out of high school?
A. I looked at a variety of schools, ranging from small Div III to Div I, taking into account that my family was in Ohio and I wanted to be in driving distance.

Q. What set GVSU apart from them?
A. The nationally recognized athletic program and the well-known College of Education, combined with the new and modern atmosphere and facilities, set GVSU apart from the others.

Q. What are the best aspects of GVSU Tennis (and playing college tennis)?
A. The best part of playing colege tennis is the relationships that were bulit while working out and competing, building lifelong friends and skills.

Q. What is your favorite memory of GVSU Tennis?
A. Traveling to matches throughout the nation with the girls.

Q. What are your plans for the next year?
A. The Special Education program is 5 years, so I will be finishing my student teaching, then looking for employment in West Michigan for the 2010-2011 school year.

Q. Where do you see yourself 10 years from now?
A. I see myself still teaching, while being married with children.
